With this particular project, the Hydrowick team has been able to work with existing catch basins and tie into drainage infrastructure to further distribute the unwanted water. Our team was able to branch out Hydrowick from the catch basins to the surrounding areas to pull the water from high spots, low spots, and everything in-between into the basin. Pictured is the initial layout, installation, and cleanup after installing drainage into 3 catch basins on 2 different fairways. Total installation time was 6 hours. Photos taken spring 2022.

The Nest highlights the versatility the Hydrowick element offers as it has been used very effectively to follow low lying contours and “snake” around bends addressing all areas surrounding the Hydrowick element. Pictured, you will see how Hydrowick has been applied throughout their course on several fairways to address all excess water. Installation time was 8 hours without any disruption to regular golf play. Photos taken spring 2022.

The Hydrowick team was tasked with addressing surface moisture and standing water issues on a fairway and approach where a large portion of the landing area and hole is regularly saturated. Our team at Hydrowick designed a layout using a header tile across the fairway to accommodate the Hydrowick capillary action where water is pulled from both directions surrounding the tile. By implementing this system, Hydrowick can be utilized going in all directions and the infrastructure is in place for future projects. Pictured, is over 28,000 Sq. Ft of fairway that is now effectively drained by Hydrowick. Spacing between lines was 6.5 feet and installation took 12 hours.

Nobleton Lakes Golf Club (Canada)
Fairway Drainage Improvement
Aqua-Terra has been installing Hydrowick across the fairways at Nobleton Lakes Golf Club to address persistent low-lying wet areas that have long prevented mowing and cart access. Now in our third year working across their 27-hole property, Hydrowick continues to provide reliable subsurface drainage, allowing the course to maintain healthier turf, improve playability, and keep equipment and golfers moving safely through previously inaccessible areas. With this particular project, the Hydrowick team has been able to work with existing catch basins and tie into drainage infrastructure to further distribute the unwanted water. Shooting Star JH (USA)
Basin Drainage Enhancement
At Shooting Star in Jackson, WY, Aqua-Terra has been working closely with Superintendent Tyler Shrum to improve drainage around the course’s numerous basins. With the region’s heavy snowfall and long spring melt, saturated turf has been a recurring challenge. By installing Hydrowick around these basins, we’re helping accelerate subsurface moisture movement and directing water efficiently to its destination. The result is faster drying, improved playability, and healthier turf across nearly every hole.
Beaconsfield Golf Club (UK)
Greens Drainage Upgrade
In the consistently wet climate of the UK, Beaconsfield Golf Club partnered with our dealer and installer, Djuke, to address chronic moisture issues on select greens. After completing Hydrowick installations on a few test greens for Course Manager Stuart Langhorn, the improvements were undeniable playability increased, turf quality strengthened, and moisture levels stabilized compared to untreated greens. Based on these results, the club committed to a full upgrade, phasing in Hydrowick across all 18 greens over a planned six-year period.

Kauri Cliffs (New Zealand)
Fairway & Low-Lying Area Drainage
At Kauri Cliffs in New Zealand, persistent low-lying wet areas were causing water to sit during the rainy season, impacting turf quality and playability. Working with our dealer/installer Turf & Drainage, Hydrowick was installed to help move trapped moisture and improve overall surface conditions. The results have supported healthier turf and more consistent playing surfaces, and the team is now developing a phased plan to address additional problem areas identified by the course superintendent.
Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club (Canada)
Fairway & Approach Drainage Improvement
At Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club, Aqua-Terra installed Hydrowick to address two long-standing moisture problem areas that were impacting playability. One area was a par 3 approach that consistently held moisture, resulting in soft conditions and limited recovery after rainfall. The second was a par 4 fairway where persistent saturation had rendered the turf frequently unplayable.By installing Hydrowick in these targeted locations, excess surface moisture is now being captured and moved laterally through capillary action, allowing the turf to dry more efficiently. The improvement has led to firmer playing conditions, faster recovery following rain events, and the restoration of fairway access in an area that had previously remained wet for extended periods.

Mather Golf Course (USA)
Fairway Drainage Improvement
At Mather Golf Course, a high-traffic public facility hosting more than 75,000 rounds annually, Aqua-Terra has completed Hydrowick installations across eight fairways to improve drainage and support consistent playing conditions. With the volume of play the course sees each year, maintaining firm, healthy turf is critical to keeping the course open and playable.By installing Hydrowick in key fairway areas, excess moisture is able to move efficiently below the surface, reducing saturation and improving turf resilience. The enhanced drainage has helped the fairways dry faster after rain events, supporting better turf conditions and allowing the course to accommodate more rounds with fewer weather-related interruptions.
